Sex offender being released today in Janesville

JANESVILLE — Sex offender Eugene W. Vahlenkamp was scheduled to be released from prison today and begin living at Rock Valley Community Programs, 203 W. Sunny Lane, between Janesville and Beloit.

The 71-year-old was convicted of sexually assaulting two boys, ages 7 and 12, in June 1991.

His supervision conditions prohibit him from having unsupervised contact with minors; from patronizing taverns, bars or liquor stores; from contacting his victims, and from consuming alcohol or illegal drugs.

He must comply with standard sex offender rules, wear a Global Position System bracelet, have regular face-to-face contact with law enforcement and be a lifetime registrant of the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registration Program.

Vahlenkamp is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 295 pounds, has gray hair, brown eyes and wears glasses. He has scars on his upper chest, lower left arm and upper left hip.
