— A Williams Bay man will proceed to a preliminary hearing on charges of sexually assaulting a young girl that he knew.

Jose A. Romero-Oran, 27, of 127 A Elmhurst Court, Williams Bay, appeared in Walworth County court Tuesday. He is charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 13.

The victim told police that Romero-Oran took her into a bedroom, removed their clothing and had sexual contact with her, according to the criminal complaint.

The victim said the incident happened during the summer of 2008 in the city of Lake Geneva and it reoccurred in Williams Bay in February 2009.

Romero-Oran is being held at the Walworth County Jail on a cash bond.

He is due in court Monday, July 13. If convicted, Romero-Oran faces up to 120 years in prison.

Well I would think that they would arrest the man with good evidence and I would hope at 12/13 with how fast kids are these days that they would not lie about such a serious offense. I hope the family of the girl will find there justice if all is true
