Janesville youth games in full swing
Janesville’s finest young baseball talent will be on display the next three days.
Starting with today’s Mike Grogan Classic Tournameat at Riverside Park, nine games are on tap for players between the ages of nine and 18.
Janesville’s Little League and Babe Ruth programs will hold their annual all-star games Thursday at the Youth Baseball Park.
The 9-year-old and 11-year-old all-star games are at 4:30 p.m. The 10-year-old and 12-year-old all-star games are scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
The Babe Ruth 13-year-old all-star game is set for 5:30 p.m.
The Grogan Tournament, which honors former Janesville Parker baseball coach and teacher Mike Grogan, is slated for today, Thursday and Friday.
The Janesville American Legion team opens up the Grogan Tournament with a
5 p.m. game today against the Beloit Legion. The Janesville East and Janesville West Junior Legion teams will play immediately following the first game.
All concession and 50/50 raffles sales during the tournament will go toward the Mike Grogan Scholarship, which is awarded each year to a senior baseball player from Craig and Parker.
