Beloit Snappers tip Chiefs

PEORIA, ILL. — Brad Tippett was the story Sunday for the Beloit Snappers.

The righthander pitched seven solid innings to lead the Snappers to a 4-2 win over the Peoria Chiefs in Midwest League action.

Tippett, from Sydney, Australia, struck out five and walked one in seven innings of work.

Blake Martin struck out the only batter he faced to earn his first save of the season.

Trailing 1-0 in the third, the Snappers took the lead for good with three runs. James Beresford and Michael Harrington had RBI singles in the inning.

Game three of the four-game series is tonight.
