Mauermann earns spot with Jets. Give me a break. His dad ruined hockey for the high school team for the last four years and now they are about to do the same for the Jets. You can forget my season tickets. I won't attend a single game.

From what I'm hearing there are a few people who are not fans of hockey coming to Janesville. If you're not a fan or don't understand the game don't come and watch, but if you're curious about Jr. Hockey and want to learn about the game give the team/boys a chance. They'll have a rough road at first, but they'll do better if they have the support of fans along the way. My son was tendered to play in Janesville, and is very excited to move to Janesville from California to experience a Junior A Hockey team, work hard for his team and coach and to make Janesville proud...with the hopes to be seen by college scouts during this season, and hopefully receive a scholarship for a Division 1 or 3 college. Please don't crush these young mens dreams, and please help the families that send there loved ones to live away feel comfortable about their decision. Thank you.

the only contribution from some people is to complain about the contributions of others. it is laughable and shows there are those with little to say and no thought to put into saying it. for the record, i love hockey, i don't like our politicians (the city council) using our money to subsidize it. is that fair enough. and the gay marriage comment! out of left field.

Sorry, but this team will fold after a year. People are too cheap in this city. Go support the Beloit Snappers before they leave. This is money better spent.

David Jacobson is a huge talent - no doubt!! Maybe it was HIS decision to play somewhere else. Maybe the prospect of getting out of Janesville was more interesting to him. Maybe he wanted to go someplace where people appreciate hockey. Maybe, he wanted to see a little bit more of the world. I don't know - I don't personally know him - and you probably don't either.

If I ran this team, I would certainly do whatever was necessary to help the first year be successful. Seems to me when you have a LOCAL goalie good enough to play at this level, you would make sure you get him on board to draw more local fans. How in the world did they let Jacobson get away ???

mjbike2 - depending on the ages of your kids, a movie might be cheaper - IF - you don't get any popcorn, but it probably won't be as entertaining nor will it be a chance to socialize with other people/fans.

An old, but wise, saying comes to mind, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Give it a try.
