ROCK COUNTY Some farm families in Rock County are taking advantage of a training course offered by the U-W Extension office.
Crops and Soils Agent for the county, Jim Stute, says about 30 youth sign up for course every year.
The course covers the necessary training for youth to operate farm machinery on Wisconsin roads, and to receive a special certificate required by the federal government. Stute says youth traditionally help out on the family farm, but sometimes work on other farms as well.
The classes begin June 18th through the 23rd.
