— Police are looking for a man who tried to persuade a 13-year-old girl to get into his car Thursday.

According to a news release from the Lake Geneva Police Department:

The girl told police that at about 4 p.m. Thursday, a white convertible driving west on Darwin Street stopped for a minute near where she was standing. The vehicle continued driving, turned around and parked in a driveway. The driver stared at the girl, she told police.

The girl left the area and headed toward downtown to make contact with a family member, but the vehicle followed the girl and attempted to block her in at playground at St. Francis de Sales School, she told police.

The driver asked the girl questions, trying to persuade her to get into the vehicle, she told police. The girl ran past the vehicle, but the vehicle continued to follow her.

The girl made it downtown, where a family member was waiting.

The driver is described as an Asian male about 19 to 20 years old. He has a short Mohawk and a tattoo under his left ear. He was driving a white convertible sports car with the top down. A license plate number was not provided.

I am actually quite impressed with that description from a 13 year old in a panic situation. Approximate age, approximate ethnicity (or at least how he looked to her), short Mohawk and a tattoo under his left ear in addition the color of the car plus that it is a convertible with a sports car look. There can’t be too many people that match that description, it sounds like she did a great job observing her surroundings and describing them as best she could. Claim profiling all you want but guess what if I see someone fitting that description I am going to call the cops and get them a license plate number because their aren’t too many people that look like that. Just the Mohawk and the tattoo are pretty good giveaways. Hope this guy gets caught.

Better be careful describing people the police are looking for... If you describe him as a man are you profiling that men commit more crimes than women... HUGE difference between profiling and describing a wanted suspect.

She was 13!! Maybe Asian was the only word she could think of to describe him considering she was probably frightened at the time.

You'd better have his pedigree before you start "profiling" him as "Asian"!
