Cell tower proposal comes before plan commission
Neighbors near St. Mark's Church in Janesville can voice their thoughts Monday on a cell tower proposed for the property.
Gale Price, manager of building and development services for the city, says some residents expressed concern about aesthetics of the tower during a recent neighborhood meeting. Now city staff members are recommending a stealth design for the tower. That essentially means the tower will look like a flagpole without antenna.
This project from US Cellular was previously planned for Marshall Middle School, but the school board vetoed the plan.
The public hearing is scheduled for 6:30 Monday in City Council Chambers.
