The U-S navy is planning to spend more than a week in Janesville and Beloit in May as they get ready for the Blue Angels performance at Airfest.

Airfest organizer, Tom Morgan, says Rock County is one of only 21 locations in the U-S chosen to host "navy week" this year. The list of activities is long and includes a visit from the Chief of Navy Reserve, Vice Admiral Dirk Debbink, a native of Oconomowoc. He'll be speaking at area civic groups and schools as well as making appearances at community events. The Great Lakes Navy Band is sending their rock group "Horizon" for public performances throughout the week, and the "Leap Frogs" a special navy seal parachute team will perform throughout the community and at Airfest. Airfest is scheduled for May 29th through the 31st at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport.
