WHITEWATER — Joe Chambers picked up where he left off to give UW-Whitewater a shot at its eighth wheelchair basketball national championship.
After scoring 36 points in the Warhawks’ 95-43 thrashing of Missouri on Thursday, Chambers scored 32 points to lift Whitewater (31-1) past Arizona, 77-42, and into today’s National Intercollegiate Wheelchair championship game with Illinois at 2 p.m here at Williams Center.
Admission is free.
The No. 1 seed Warhawks made 18 of 36 (50 percent) field goal attempts in the first half to take a commanding 46-20 lead.
Chambers made 14 of 24 field-goal attempts, while making 4 of 6 free throws.
Andre Bienek added 15 points to the Warhawks’ effort, while teammate Bingo Wofford chipped in 10 points.
