— The Edgerton School Board approved Monday hiring Mark Coombs as principal of Edgerton High School starting July 1.

Coombs spent the last four years as assistant principal at Janesville Craig High School. He will take over the principal position from Jim Halberg, who is retiring.

Coombs will earn $97,000 in 2009-10, Superintendent Norm Fjelstad said. Halberg is earning $99,000 in 2008-09.
