Janesville bar owner injured in crash
JANESVILLE A Janesville bar owner was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Monday night.
Jeffrey Russell, 50, owner of Russ' Park Place, 1637 E. Racine St., Janesville, was thrown from his bike after he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and struck a sign post on County O between Read Road and Interstate 90/39 in La Prairie Township at 10 p.m. Monday, said Sgt. Jason Harding of the Rock County Sheriff's Office.
Russell was arrested on charges of unreasonable or imprudent speed, operating left of center and operating while intoxicated, Harding said. It was reported as his first arrest on a drunken-driving charge.
Russell was transported to Mercy Hospital, Janesville, according to an employee who answered the phone at Russ' Park Place when The Janesville Gazette called Tuesday night. Russell's condition is unknown.
