Letter carriers around Rock county hope to collect more than 55,000 pounds of non-perishable food items Saturday, as part of their annual food drive.

Janesville organizer Kathy Oliver says just leave your bagged items by your mail box, and please avoid glass packaging. Oliver says a drive by drop off at the post office on Milton Avenue in Janesville will be available for the first time this year. All items collected will stay in the same community.

Everything collected in Janesville will be split evenly between ECHO and the Salvation Army.
