Police link robberies in three counties
LAKE GENEVA Police believe an armed robbery at the Comfort Suites in Lake Geneva on April 30 could be connected to a recent string of armed robberies in neighboring Kenosha County and Lake County, Ill.
Several law enforcement agencies met Wednesday in Lake Villa, Ill., to compare notes on the robberies, said Lake Geneva police Detective Ed Gritzner. They exchanged information and plan to continue sharing information as it becomes available, he said.
Police believe the seven robberies are connected because they all happened in the late-night or early morning hours, involved suspects displaying handguns and demanding money and involved suspects wearing dark, hooded sweatshirts and sunglasses or bandanas covering their faces.
