Parker has problems scoring

LAKE GENEVA — Janesville Parker High School hit the ball but didn’t produce enough runs in a

4-3 loss to Lake Geneva Badger in nonconference baseball here Monday.

The Vikings posted 12 hits to the Badgers’ seven.

“We didn’t quite do enough,” Parker coach Brian Martin said. “When you have 12 hits in a high school baseball game, you should score more than three runs.

“But we lost a couple of guys running the bases, and they got the clutch hit when they needed it,’’ Martin added.

Badger scored twice on the sixth inning on Kyle Waschow’s two-out single for a 4-1 lead.

Parker rallied in the seventh, scoring twice on Tyler Teubert’s long two-out double.

“About four more feet and the game would have been tied,” Martin said.

The Vikings left two runners stranded to close the game.

Parker (5-11) will host Verona at 5 p.m. today.
