WCLO's Steve Benton reports on Memorial Day weekend activities for Beloit Jr. R.O.T.C cadets

RSS

— Cadets from the Beloit Memorial High School Jr. R.O.T.C program will be busy over the next several days.

Starting Friday morning, they'll be placing flags at the graves of veterans in the stateline area. On Monday, a contingent of cadets will march in the Memorial Day parade. The parade starts at 9 a.m. and begins in South Beloit and ends in Beloit this year.

Lt. Col. John Gangloff runs Beloit's program. He says high school junior, cadet Cherish Golden, is getting recognition by the patriotic group Sons of Wisconsin Revolution. She submitted an essay describing how Jr. R.O.T.C. is helping her and won the "outstanding cadet" award.
