It was Championship Thursday in Rock Valley Conference baseball.

Evansville High locked up a second straight title by walloping East Troy, 13-3, to finish 13-3 in the Rock Valley North.

The Blue Devils share this title, however, with Edgerton, which ended 13-3 in the North by topping McFarland, 6-2.

Beloit Turner outlasted Clinton, 10-7, in a battle for the South Division title, giving the Trojans their fourth championship in five years and seventh in the last nine.

Derek Cashore went 4-for-4 to lead Evansville’s 16-hit attack at East Troy. The Blue Devils finished off the Trojans with a five-run seventh.

Edgerton, which beat McFarland, 5-1, in 13 innings last week, took the lead for good with a first-inning run. Kyle Johnson then hit a grand slam in a fourth-run fifth, giving the host Crimson Tide a 6-0 lead that produced Edgerton’s first title since 1999.

Turner spoiled Clinton’s title hopes with a seven-run fourth inning.
