As the local Girl Scout council merges with 2 1/2 others, an era in leadership comes to an end.

Angela Moore has been CEO of the Badger Council for 16 years. She's retiring at the end of the month, on the eve the new Girl Scouts of Wisconsin-Badgerland Council becomes official. Moore's career with the Girl Scouts spanned 26-years. One of her notable achievements was assisting in a capital campaign which raised $1.1 million to build a program center serving more than 30,000 girls now for more than a decade.

A retirement reception is planned from 4:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon Wednesday at the Girl Scout Program Center on Big Hill Court in Beloit.
