— From 75 job applicants, someone already working in the Clinton School District has risen to the top.

This summer, Nichole Norman, dean of students and family and consumer economics teacher, will take over as the principal at Clinton High School.

Norman is excited about the new job and will focus on building relationships, setting high expectations for achievement and using best practices in the classroom, she said.

"We will continue educating Clinton students for their future endeavors," Norman wrote in a statement.

Norman has worked for 10 years in the district.

She graduated from UW-Stout with a bachelor's degree in family and consumer science educational services in 1998.

In 2001, she earned a master's degree in education from National Lewis University, Beloit. In 2003, she earned a certificate of advanced study in educational leadership, also from National Lewis University, Beloit.

Aside from the role as high school dean and teacher, Norman has worked as a summer school principal in the district, Administrator Pam Kiefert said.

"She's absolutely ready," Kiefert said. "We're thrilled to have her."
