Walworth County authorities Tuesday released the names of two people killed in car crashes Sunday.

Law enforcement responded to three fatal car crashes in the county, sheriff's department Capt. Scott McClory said.

-- Elkhorn: Thomas B. Dace, 64, of Delavan died after a two-car crash about midnight Sunday on Lincoln Street just north of Rockwell Street in Elkhorn, Police Chief Joel Christensen said. It is unclear if the victim died as a result of the crash or another reason, he added.

Christensen said preliminary investigations indicate Dace's vehicle crossed the middle lane and the road while going north and crashed into a vehicle traveling south. The other driver, Jeffrey J. Alder, 53, of Elkhorn was taken to the hospital with injuries.

Christensen said the Walworth County Sheriff's Office is assisting Elkhorn police in investigating the crash. Toxicology results should be available in three to four weeks.

-- Darien Township: Mary-Anne C. Drago, 56, of Loves Park, Ill., was killed when her car rolled over at 1:25 a.m. Monday on southbound Interstate 43 near North Road in Darien Township, according to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.

The driver left the far left lane and entered the median. She tried but was unable to get control of her Nissan Pathfinder and get back on the highway. The vehicle swerved back into the median and rolled, according to the release. Neither alcohol nor drugs appears to be a factor in the crash.

-- Geneva Township: One person died in a car crash in Geneva Township on Sunday night. An autopsy was scheduled today, a department spokesman said.

The Gazette was unable to reach the Geneva Township Police Department on Tuesday for information about the deceased.
