— K's Outback Cafe is closed after a fire caused $300,000 in damage Tuesday night.

The Orfordville Fire Department responded at 6:26 p.m. Tuesday to a fire at the cafe, 313 Brodhead St., Chief Jim Ponkauskas said.

Firefighters had the fire under control within an hour but were on the scene until 2 a.m., he said. The Footville Fire Department, Orfordville Police Department and Rock County Sheriff's Office assisted, he said.

The fire started in a back supply room, he said. The storage area and kitchen sustained heavy fire damage, and the dining area sustained heavy smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but is not considered suspicious, Ponkauskas said.

"Firefighters had the fire under control within an hour but were on the scene until 2 a.m. eating delicious char-broiled hamburgers or steaks, and waiting for the baked beans to finish cooking, he said."

We have found Jason and he is in your attic now--run!

Honestly, how does this discussion turn from a fire at K's to "Where's Waldo Rux," the Packers, and lawnboys?

I stopped at Bill's gas station in Orfordville and no one in there has ever heard of Jason. I really think I seen him mowing lawns in Janesville.

Jason does work as an EMT along with being an usher at the Packer games. That would be the same person you are thinking about.

I hope she's able to rebuild. Loved the food prices were reasonable and the waitresses were always friendly.

Too bad about Ks. Great food. Great waitresses. I feel bad for those who lost their jobs, and, most importantly, for all those elderly folks who eat all their meals at Ks. Hopefully, Kay builds back!

Jason Rux that was that boy in the picture in Green Bay. He sure didn't look like he was a firefighter. He looks like he should be mowing lawns.
