St. Mary girls taking messages to D.C.
JANESVILLE The eighth-grade girls of St. Mary School in Janesville are going to Washington, D.C., in May and are collecting personal letters and video messages that they will hand deliver to the White House.
For a donation of $20 for individuals and $100 for businesses, people can share thoughts with President Barack Obama and the administration via letter or video. The effort is part of a fundraiser for the trip.
"By sharing our views and vision for the future of Janesville, we can bring our city to life for our national leaders and help them better understand its enormous potential," eighth-grader Maddie Blomgren said.
During the trip, the young women will tour the White House and meet with key leaders to present the letters and video.

It's a great opportunity but I see no upside for this town. Nobama doesn't give a rats a$$ about this town or any other. These letters might just as well be given to a dead person.

What an excellent opportunity for these girls personally, and potentially for the City of Janesville. Interesting idea.
