Sex offender released into Janesville neighborhood

— The Janesville police department is notifying the public of the release of a convicted child sex offender into a home in the 1200 block of South Cherry St.

52 year old Glenn A. Holton was convicted of 2nd degree sexual assault of a child, habitual criminality, and felony bail jumping in 2004. He was released to the Rock Valley Corrections facility in July and is now live in a home on South Cherry.

Holton is to have no contact with minors, no taverns, bars, or liquor stores, and will be registered as a sex offender for the rest of his life. He will be under strict supervision, including GPS monitoring. Holton is 5'6", 190 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Residents living in the area around the 1200 block of South Cherry St. were notified of Holton's release with the release of fliers from the police department.

Just think if all 27 of you who posted here, and all the countless others who have posted similar thoughts on this topic elsewhere would actually DO SOMETHING about it other than post on a message board, maybe change would happen.
We cant just sit back and complain about the way things are, we have to STAND UP and be heard. We dont want this man in our community, we dont want this man on our streets, leave him in jail where he belongs. Write your senators, congressmen, heck write the president. We need to work together to make the following words true once again.
"And that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."
