Rock County property owners can expect to pay more money to the county under the proposed 2010 budget.
County Administrator Craig Knutson says he has to address shortfalls from state revenue this year and next.
Sales tax revenue is also down in Rock County. Knutson says the county brought in $10.5 million in sales tax revenue in 2008, but he is budgeting $8.8 million in the 2010 budget.
The county's indebtedness is at its lowest level since 1984.
The proposal includes a nearly $20 tax increase for the owner of a $100,000 home.
Knutson presented his budget to the county board Thursday.
