Search warrant results in drug-related arrests

— A number of items were seized and arrests made Wednesday night by the Janesville Police Department Street Crimes Unit after an investigation into the possession and use of illegal drugs, according to a department news release.

A search warrant was executed at 209 Cherry St. by the Street Crimes Unit at 9:36 p.m. with help from the patrol division and resulted in the seizure of multiple items of drug paraphernalia, a police scanner, $50, prescription drugs, seven suspected ecstasy pills, 334.1 grams of marijuana and another 249 grams of marijuana drying in the basement.

Anthony J. Michener, 23, of 209 Cherry St., was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver ecstasy pills near certain places, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver near certain places, running a drug house and possession of prescription drugs.

Also arrested were:

-- Gregory J. Kinsley, 46, of 209 Cherry St., on charges of possession of marijuana.

-- Joseph R. Herbrand, 28, of 209 Cherry St., on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia.

-- Ryan J. Sotos, 21, of 4101 N. Woodhue Drive, on charges of possession of marijuana.

What about, at the same time, 1329 Church St. was raided? How come there was no mention of that street? WJVL & Madison News reported it.
