— The Rock County Sheriff's Office on Monday released the name of the person killed in Sunday crash in Orfordville.

Harris Speich, 72, Orfordville, died at University Hospital, Madison. He and his wife, Ilene Speich, 71, were extricated from their 1997 Mercury Mountaineer before being transported to Mercy Hospital in Janesville. Harris was later flown to UW-Hospital where he died, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

Ilene was listed in good condition Monday morning at Mercy, according to a hospital spokesperson.

The accident occurred at 1:42 p.m. at the four-way intersection of Highways 11 and 213 in the Village of Orfordville.

A 1997 International tandem axel truck driven by Kevin Campbell, 27, of Washington, Pa. was traveling east on Highway 11 and approaching Highway 213 when it hit the driver's side of Speich's Mountaineer. Campbell and his passenger, 31-year-old James Opic of Wheeling W. Va., were not hurt, the release said.

Campbell was cited for failing to stop, according to Sgt. Kerry Schlittler.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting in the investigation of the crash. Speed and inattentive driving may have contributed, the release said.

regardless, at least he has the rest of his life to think about it. I think he should think about it behind bars. HE KILLED SOMEONE!!! I hope it haunts him every single day!

And I think you're irrational to assume he would have stopped had he been attentive. There's a colossal difference between inattention & "just not giving a ___"! Maybe your lack of attention prevents your observation of this, but I see it every day on the road!

If he were attentive, he would have stopped at the stop sign. I said nothing about him being irrational. I think you may want to look up the definitions of both... you're apparently confused on the meaning of inattentive and rational.

Why should we assume he was inattentive? Lots of rational drivers DECIDE to run stop lights & signs!

And the rest of his life to try and overcome the guilt of homicide by inattentive driving... :(
