Brodhead/Juda rolls past New Glarus-Monticello

Brodhead/Juda didn't have any problem moving into the second round of the WIAA Division 4 football playoffs.

The Cardinals built a 28-0 lead by halftime and cruised past New Glarus-Monticello, 47-0, Tuesday night.

Jake Covert scored on a 29-yard pass from Travis Hull and added a 1-run scoring run later as the Cardinals went to 8-2 overall.

Hull also hit Mike Peterson with a 76-yard scoring pass, and Ethan Douglas ran 11 yards for a touchdown. Douglas finished with 16 carries for 80 yards.

-- Darlington 28, Palmyra-Eagle 21 (OT)—Quarterback Alex Erickson ran 25 yards on the first play in overtime to give the Redbirds the victory.

The Panthers' attempt to regain a tie ended with a lost fumble on their second play in the overtime.

Erickson threw touchdown passes for 52 and eight yards in the fourth quarter to erase Palmyra-Eagle's 21-8 lead and send the game into the overtime. Erickson also rushed for 186 yards on 19 carries.

Darlington (9-1) will host Pardeeville (9-1) in a Level 2 game Saturday afternoon.
