WCLO's Steve Benton reports on a possible felony charge against a former Janesville School District employee

RSS

— A former Manager of Information Services for the Janesville School District could face jail time and a fine if found guilty of a felony charge issued by Janesville Police.

The investigation into actions by Brandon Keirns indicates he allegedly manipulated funds, paid by the district in 2008, that went toward computer software and services. The district spent about $185,000 and police allege Keirns put $160,000 of that in personal bank accounts.

Lt. Tim Heirs says Keirns currently lives and works in the Milwaukee area and they have a warrant for his arrest.

Heirs says if he's convicted of the felony count, he faces a fine not to exceed $10,000 and prison term not to exceed 2 years 6 months, or both.
