WCLO's Steve Benton reports on the installation of Beloit College's 11th president

RSS

— Scott Bierman has been working on the Beloit College campus since July, but his position as president was made official Friday.

Bierman was installed as the 11th president of the college on Friday. He says it's one of the greatest honors of his life since there have only been ten others in that position over 163 years.

Representatives from scores of colleges, universities, and educational organizations assembled in Eaton Chapel to witness the occasion and hear Bierman's first major address to the community.

The day started with a lot less pomp with a "community run." Interim Director of Communications at the college, Susan Kasten, says Bierman is a "runner" and he invited over 100 people to run with him along the Rock River.

The inauguration was at 11 am and the day ended with a dance at 9 pm.
