WCLO's Steve Benton reports on the latest attempt to remove old, unused prescriptions from medicine cabinets

RSS

— The latest pharmaceutical round-up in Rock County brings in over 1,100 pounds of controlled and non-controlled substances.

Rock County Health Department Environmental Health Director, Tim Banwell says 826 people from Janesville, Beloit, Milton and Edgerton brought the drugs to locations in those four communities on Saturday.

He says they're on the way to breaking their record of 1,600 pounds brought in last year.

Banwell says their goal is to keep old prescription medications out of the water supply and out of the hands of teens or others who might abuse the prescriptions.
