Numbers are up at Janesville's aquatics facilities

WCLO's Steve Benton reports on how hot weather affects the number of patrons at Janesville's three aquatics facilities
JANESVILLE A string of hot days this summer made Janesville's aquatic facilities popular places to hang-out.
Recreation Director, Bonnie Davis, says in June and July alone, about 20,000 more people used the facilities than during the same period last year.
The numbers are slightly skewed, according to Davis, because the wading pool at Palmer Park was closed for part of the season last year. In addition to the hot weather, improvements to the facilities may have played a role in the numbers.
The total this year for all three pools in June and July is 43,017 compared to 23,727 last year. The most popular pool this year was at Palmer Park where 19,757 people sought relief from the heat, slightly ahead of Rockport Pool with 19,484 visitors.
