Beloit Turner Superintendent of Schools Dennis McCarthy is quick to point out, this is not the time to present a big building referendum to the voters.
McCarthy does say the district will eventually need a new high school, and the deal for a nearby 40-acre parcel may be too good to pass up. McCarthy says the school board has considered investing before, but now the recession may have helped reduce the price of the land from $800 thousand to under $300 thousand.
Both the school board and town board plan to discuss development needs Monday.
