The Beloit International Film Festival officially begins Thursday night with a "Lunch and Laurels"party.
The launch signifies the beginning of a four day extravaganza featuring more than 140 independent films. The laurels focuses on the BIFFY awards. Film makers will be honored in categories ranging from Best Feature to Best Wisconsin Film.
The event is set for 5:00 p.m. at The Eclipse Center on Riverside Drive in Beloit.
