Beloit Police say they've arrested the mother of a toddler reportedly injured by a ten-year-old babysitter.

A ten-year-old babysitter accused of abusing a toddler appeared in Rock County Court Friday.
The ten-year-old remains in custody in the non-secure section of the Rock County Juvenile Detention Center. According to the criminal complaint, the Beloit girl is accused of giving the toddler an abusive head injury, caused by shaking or slamming. A doctor says the injuries to the toddler, which include bruises nearly covering her body, are similar to those caused when a child is hit by a car. When interviewed by police, the ten-year-old said she grabbed the toddler by the hair and pulled her out of her crib. She also told police she hit the toddler with toys, a bat and a belt. The criminal complaint states the babysitter also picked up the toddler and threw her into a bathtub. A judge has ordered a competency hearing for the girl.
Prosecutors note that it would be a felony offense if the juvenile was an adult.

I really would like to know just what excuses the mother is giving for not noticing the bruises on this baby. What kind of stupidity level do you have to be at to let any of this happen? I just can't wrap my mind around it. Bless that baby.

What the heck is a 10 year old doing babysitting anyway? I glad the mother was arrested for this. It is her fault for leaving her child with such a young babysitter. I wonder who the parents of the 10 year old are?
