BELOIT The latest effort to check on tobacco sales compliance results in four citations in Beloit.
Director of Rock County Youth-2-Youth, Debbie Fischer, says they sent out 16 and 17 year olds to try to buy tobacco products at 33 businesses in Beloit. Four sold to the teens, and were issued citations from the Beloit Police Department.
While Fischer says they're looking for 100% compliance, 95% isn't bad.
The businesses that were fined in the latest test are, Rocky's Supermarket at 1101 St. Lawrence Avenue, the Mobile convenience store at 2882 Milwaukee Road, Rock River Grocery at 1800 6th Street, and the Walgreens at 1531 Madison Road.
