TURTLE TOWNSHIP The end of a romance was punctuated with a steak knife to the head Thursday at a home in Turtle Township, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The incident was reported around 9:18 p.m. Thursday at 1933 S. Crane Ave.
The victim, a 24-year-old man from Rockford, Ill., had gone to the residence to break up with his girlfriend, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
The girlfriend was Sarah E. Davis, 21, also of Rockford.
“Davis became upset sometime after Thanksgiving dinner after the victim left the residence with her vehicle,” according to the release.
The victim later returned, and an argument ensued in the driveway. That’s when Davis is accused of stabbing the man in the left side of the head as he was trying to leave.
Davis was arrested at the residence on a charge of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
She was taken to the Rock County Jail, where she was held pending a court appearance today, according to the news release.
The victim had left the
scene by the time authorities arrived. He had gone to Beloit Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation. No further charges were anticipated.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene along with
city of Beloit police and fire units.
