— A woman was treated and released from Mercy Hospital early Tuesday after a domestic dispute that escalated to strangulation and involved a handgun, according to police.

Thomas J. Anderson, 43, of Janesville, was arrested at 2:53 a.m. Tuesday at his residence in the 3100 block of Mount Zion Ave., on charges of endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, substantial battery and strangulation, said Sgt. Dean Sukus.

Anderson remains in custody at the Rock County Jail.

Anderson and the injured woman are roommates who live with a couple of other people at the same residence, Sukus said. Anderson and the woman were arguing about a cell phone, Sukus said.
