Forget the Ronald McDonald business. He isn't selling impressionable pre-teen children, or anyone else, a darned thing, though McDonald's has scoffed at retiring its mascot. The focus should be on the billion-dollar advertising campaigns aimed at seducing children into "lovin'" food that should be allowed to pass their lips only as a very special treat.
