Head of Youth Services at Hedberg Public Library in Janesville, Sharon Grover, is very supportive of the Governor's plans.

Grover says children need to be exposed to reading long before they're ever in the classroom. She says the library invests important resources geared toward early childhood storytimes, and also parental instruction.

The task force is composed of a diverse group of professionals, focused on a range of philosophical differences in teaching methods and training. The Goveror's goal is to improve reading proficiency by the third grade.
