Season ends for Janesville 13-year-old team
The season ended Sunday for Janesville’s 13-year-old baseball tournament team.
Jefferstown, representing the Western Kentucky District, scored an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth inning en route to a 1-0 win over Janesville on Sunday night in the Ohio Valley Regional Tournament at Matoon, Ill.
Janesville had defeated Edgewood, representing Central Indiana, 10-6, earlier Sunday to remain alive in the double-elimination tournament.
Zach Bailey was the tough-luck loser for Janesville against Jefferstown. The righthander struck out eight and allowed only four hits and one unearned run in going the distance. Jefferstown scored its only run on two Janesville errors.
Janesville had the bases loaded in the seventh but could not push across the tying run.
Chase Nyborg lifted Janesville to victory over Edgewood. The lefthander picked up the win and was 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and a triple.

Nice headline. And here I thought we were ridding Janesville of an entire demographic.
