Beloit Snappers strike late, dominate Cougars on road

GENEVA, ILL. — The Beloit Snappers unleashed an 11-hit barrage Wednesday to bury the host Kane County Cougars, 10-1, in Midwest League baseball.

After playing five scoreless innings, Beloit scored three runs in the sixth and one in the seventh for a 4-1 lead. The Snappers rallied for six runs on six hits in the ninth inning, including Tyler Grimes’ lead off triple and Lance Ray’s RBI double to seal the victory.

Beloit starter Ryan O’Rourke (5-3) allowed one run on seven hits through 5 1/3 innings to notch the victory. Snappers relievers Adrian Salcedo, Jose Gonzalez and Pedro Guerra combined to blank the Cougars on one hit the rest of the way.
