— If a casino is built in Beloit, it's not likely to be done as a partnership between Native American tribes.

Joe Hunt, St. Croix and Bad River casino project spokesperson, says there has not been any recent communication with the Ho-Chunk Nation.

The Ho-Chuck is still interested in building a casino in Beloit and owns part of the land the St. Croix and Bad River bands had planned on using for the casino project.

St. Croix and Bad River band leaders are meeting early next week and will discuss options regarding the Beloit Casino.

A recent decision in Washington D.C. is rekindling hope for a casino in Beloit.
