A record number of visitors attended the annual holiday lights show on Saturday night.

Rotary Gardens Director Kelli Cameron says the previous record was about 1100, and Saturday about 1600 showed up. Cameron attributes the increased interest to the success of an advertising campaign funded through a State Department of Tourism grant. Early survey results show an influx of visitors from Illinois and Madison. She says that's just were the new advertsing was directed.

The light show runs every night through December 31st, with the exception of Chrsitmas Eve and Christmas Day.
