This week's warm spell is putting a damper on many enjoyable winter activities.
The Rock County Parks Department has closed the snowmobile trails and the land ice rink at Janesville's Traxler Park is also closed. One person enjoying the warm snap is the Janesville Operations Director. John Whitcomb says the gentle warming trend is melting much of the snow, which buried city streets during the recent blizzard. He says, because of the extended warming trend, the storm sewers are keeping up, and the roads are not icing over.
The only downside, according to Whitcomb, is you can now see a new season of potholes emerging.
