Janesville middle schooler expelled
JANESVILLE The Janesville School Board on Tuesday expelled a middle school student who was accused of battering another student.
The student is expelled through the end of the 2011-2012 school year but may apply for early reinstatement starting in September.
To apply for early reinstatement, the student must get mental health treatment, obtain a statement "indicating insight into behaviors and willingness to comply with school rules," enroll in the district's Prime for Life program and take all prescribed medications.
This brings the number of expulsions this school year to eight, compared with nine at this time last year.
