— The feral cat that became tangled on a power line Dec. 30 but was later rescued has been placed with Dane County Friends of Ferals.

After its rescue, the cat was taken to the Rock County Humane Society for care. Because it would not be a candidate for adoption, the rescue group out of Madison agreed to take it.

Rock County Humane Society Executive Director Angela Rhodes said there are homes that need feral cats for barns or other outdoor living arrangements and Dane County Friends of Ferals is a "great resource by providing mousers that are spayed/neutered and healthy so they don't contribute to the ever-burgeoning cat population."
