Janesville students expelled
JANESVILLE The Janesville School Board expelled two high school students Tuesday.
Both were expelled for repeated refusal to follow school rules, according to a news release.
One student was expelled through the end of the 2012 spring semester but could apply to return no earlier than September 2011.
The other student is expelled through the end of first semester of the 2011-12 school year but could apply to return in September 2011.
To return early, both students would have to get mental health treatment, obtain "a written statement indicating insight into behaviors," comply with conditions of probation if placed on probation and take prescribed medications.
The students' behavior, attendance and schoolwork would continue to be monitored for compliance if they were allowed to return to school early.
This brings to seven the number of students expelled this school year, compared with four last year at this time.
