Nursing assistant charged with theft
ELKHORN A certified nursing assistant has been charged with theft after police say she stole a patient's credit card two weeks before he died.
Jessica M. Crabtree, 32, of 179 Lewis St., Elkhorn, is accused of charging about $3,400 on the card.
Police say the victim's widow told them she suspected Crabtree had taken the card. Crabtree admitted to police she took the card and used it.
Crabtree's next court appearance is Aug. 17 before Walworth County Judge David Reddy. The felony charge carries a maximum prison term of six years.
