Janesville Lacrosse club falls in playoffs
Sixth-seeded Waukesha rallied to defeat third-seeded Janesville, 6-5, in the first round of the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation boys state tournament at Optimist Park on Tuesday.
Waukesha (4-14) travels to No. 2 seed Hartland Arrowhead (13-4) on Thursday for a sectional semifinal game.
Janesville (4-11) trailed 4-2 after three quarters before scoring three times to take a 6-5 lead on Gerad Zanoni’s goal with 6:11 left.
Waukesah’s Bo Belmer tied the game at the 5:07 mark, before David Conrad gave Waukesha the lead with 4:21 left on his third goal of the game.
Sean MacDougall had two goals and an assist for Janesville. Taylor Stokes and Trent Krueger also scored, and Mitch Miller and Jordan Dean had assists. Bluebird goalie Ryan Johnson had seven saves.
