La Follette’s La Plant tops soccer list

Morgan La Plant is the Player of the Year in Big Eight Conference girls soccer.

The Madison La Follette High School senior forward leads the first team that also includes four players from conference champion Madison Memorial.

Janesville Craig senior midfielder Chelsea Sheedy and senior defender Samantha Glowacki have been named to the second team.

Memorial, which finished 9-0 in the conference, has forward Hannah Rather, midfielder McKenna Meuer, defender Dana Robertson and goalkeeper Katy Pilarzyk on the first team.

Craig’s Kristi Crandall, Ashley Overley and Amanda Hamilton have received honorable mention, along with Janesville Parker’s Brianna Washington.
